The resounding and recurring theme in our conversations with both schools and parents is that there needs to be more focus on involving the whole family unit throughout a child's education. Across all of our programs, we aim to bridge the gap between schools and parents. Insight into a child's home life can be a key indicator of their individual barriers to success, and providing holistic support, such as addressing cultural and linguistic differences, is a critical part of our mission.

Our full-time AmeriCorps members provide unique support through their dedication and commitment to the young people in our city. Current AmeriCorps members work closely with emerging bilingual students, help to reduce chronic absenteeism, and support students in academic achievement, college and career readiness, and the arts.

As a host partner with DIAL/SELF and Northeastern University, our members get training to be successful role models and leaders for students. We plan to expand our programming to reach more students and increase support for identified areas of need in schools in the near future.
